Quality in TESOL Education
The Association for the Promotion of
QuiTE Annual Seminar and AGM

Tuesday 22nd November 2011
UK TESOL has promoted itself rightly as a world leader in English language teaching for international students, and in the provision of internationally respected teaching qualifications. Visiting students and teachers have valued highly their experience in the UK, although not uncritically. The current market economy in the UK is setting the providers of language tuition and qualifications tremendous challenges in retaining their quality and range of provision.
This seminar will set out some of the details of the effects of the economy on the quality of academic and pastoral provision, and the ways in which staff are tackling the choices between traditional, and more market-driven, approaches to international students - who have contributed considerably both financially and academically to the reputation of UK institutions.
